Our first photo together, circa September 2013
We first met during freshman year at UPenn and since then have experienced four degrees, five cities (Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, and New York), seven apartments, countless trips, and cat parenthood as a pair. By the day of our wedding, we’ll have celebrated nine years together! Below are recollections and photos of some of our favorite memories.
Our first official “date” was lunch at a Penn dining hall called Frontera.
Senior year of college, Kristen convinced Luke to buy spontaneous flights to Copenhagen for that very weekend. This was our first solo international trip together.
We planned a ski trip during spring break of Senior year (hi David). Kristen had only been skiing once before (at age 12), so was a total beginner. Luke patiently taught her how to ski and now they shred the gnar together.
Luke came up with the name for our cat, Chauncifer. Kristen had another name picked out but couldn’t resist once she’d heard it.
Kristen loves to cook. Luke loves to take photos of Kristen cooking.
Luke was an essential at-home teaching assistant for Kristen while she worked on computer science coursework during grad school. His debugging skills are unmatched!
We were sharing a studio apartment in San Francisco when COVID first hit. Needless to say, that made remote work slightly challenging. We defected to Martha’s Vineyard soon after.
Kristen got Luke into running and we ran a 15k through Central Park in December.
